Meristem Culture
The Meristem Culture process is intended to eliminate viral and/or fungal pathogens from your cannabis plant with a goal of restoring it to previously expected outcomes. The overview below is a general idea of what to expect.
Step 1 - Sample Collection
-
Cutting/plant will be provided for meristem sample collection.
-
Plant(s) may need to be grown further for enough material.
-
-
Plant will be quarantined and samples will be taken for testing.
-
Plant will be destroyed after samples are taken to avoid contamination.
-
New clones can be provided if additional testing of the mother plant is needed.
-
Lab work to collect samples for testing.
-
Lab work to add cuttings to vessels.
-
Lab work to add meristems to petri dishes.
Step 2 - Testing
-
Initial testing to determine what is being mitigated.
-
Full Panel recommended to determine baseline
-
-
Plan for testing approximately three months after growth begins.
-
Additional testing depending on results.
-
Storage
-
Petri dishes will be kept in our lab during the mitigation process.
-
Petri dishes can also be provided to you.
-
-
Samples will be taken and placed in new media as needed.
You can expect a project to be approximately 6-10 months, as it may require multiple attempts to achieve success. We will assess progress as we go to determine continuation.
The final cost depends on what is wrong with the plant, how long it takes to mitigate, and what tests are needed.
